Hardy Newman, a Vietnamese physics theorist, has concluded that there is a small amount of rich-neutron matter at the core of each planet, including the Earth, and a system including a planet and its central star work in the similar way to a binary star system in which there exists repulsion field induced internal circulation of matter at the core of the planet. That internal circulation of matter, in turn, produce a form of energy that is called geothermal energy. Geothermal energy, in nature, is similar to the energy produced by stars in binary star systems, which is the result of the internal circulation of matter. The difference is that a star in a binary star system contains a large amount of rich-neutron matter, and therefore, produces a lot of energy. Meanwhile, a planet contains a very small amount of rich-neutron matter, and therefore, does not produce as much energy as a star.
For the Earth, there is another way that facilitates the back-and-forth conversion of rich-neutron matter/poor-neutron matter which is the spin of the Earth. Similar to a binary star system, rich-neutron matter at the core of the Earth is repelled away from the Sun to the night side of the Earth. This small amount of rich-neutron matter does not spin together with the poor-neutron matter around the rotational axis of the Earth, and therefore, the rich-neutron matter acts like the mountain of rich-neutron matter in the wind of poor-neutron matter in the surroundings. The pressure on the windward side of this mountain of rich-neutron matter is higher and that facilitates the production of rich-neutron matter. Meanwhile, the pressure on the leeward side of the mountain of rich-neutron matter is lower and that facilitates the conversion from rich-neutron matter to poor-neutron matter which, in turn, produces geothermal energy.
Hardy Newman also believes that the axial tilt of a planet affects the production of geothermal energy of that planet. For example, if the axial tilt of the Earth was 90o, the Earth would produce less geothermal energy, and therefore, the average temperature of the Earth would be colder. This also explains why Uranus is colder than Neptune even though Uranus is closer to the Sun and receive more solar energy than Neptune.
In short, geothermal energy is produced in the similar way to the production of energy by each star in a binary star system. The difference is that a planet is much smaller than a star in size.
The answer to the question in the title is detailed in a video titled "where does geothermal energy come from?" and posted on the Youtube channel: Newman Online College and embedded in this page as follow:
